Go to SETTINGS => GENERAL, and make sure both WordPress Address and Site Address use HTTPS.Ģ) The above will take care of all NEW images you upload, but not existing ones. To see this in action, here’s a screenshot of your site I opened with HTTP (insecure) in Chrome, and the images work:Īnd here is a screenshot of your site opened with HTTPS (secure) in Firefox, and the images are blocked:ġ) Set your website to use HTTPS. So when you open the site with HTTP, everything is HTTP (ie ), and the images work.īut when you open the site with HTTPS (ie ), now part of your site is in HTTPS while other parts like the images are using HTTP, and the insecure HTTP resources (like images) are blocked. So all images you upload end up with HTTP addresses, and not HTTPS. In your particular case, it seems your server supports HTTPS, but your WordPress site address uses HTTP.
When this occurs, Chrome (and other browsers!) then block all the insecure resources from getting loaded. You can learn more about mixed content here, but in a nutshell, this problem occurs when you open a website with HTTPS (secure), but resources (images, stylesheet, etc) are referenced with HTTP (insecure) URLs. And this problem exists for ALL browsers I tested this in (Chrome, Firefox, Brave, and Edge)… and not just Chrome. If by images “breaking”, you mean the images in the public website are not displaying, that seems to be a mixed-content issue. Update: Looks like when I update the page I designated as the front page, it works for a second then the images don’t load again. I look forward to your responses! I am also going to update this post as I continue to try to fix this. And will also keep trying to find solutions to this problem myself as well. While working to find the solution, I do plan to continue editing the site in another browser. I would love for it to work in all the browsers.
#ARE GOOGLE CHROME THEMES SAFE HOW TO#
Has anyone come across this issue before? How to fix? Personally, I used wordpress most of my web designing life and it’s the first time I ever had any issue like this and I had used wordpress multiple times in the past with multiple different site hosting services, so I’m really stumped and would really appreciate a solution, as I love using wordpress and would love to keep using it. And images always break in day 2 of usage. And also uninstalled and reinstalled with a fresh wordpress multiple times. I submitted a ticket with meloncube site hosting to see if they can find anything wrong, and everything looks fine on their end. cleared cookies and added socialpeachy as a safe site to the browser etc. We also checked the server perms and backend as well, repaired mysql databases etc. I tried everything that I could find to fix the problem and everything that wordpress current docs have to offer that I could find so far.
#ARE GOOGLE CHROME THEMES SAFE INSTALL#
The question is, with this being a fresh install and not much use, why did it break on day 2 and not on day 1? And how to fix the solution permanently? I don’t have this issue on a site I have hosted by, this is a completely different host I am using for budgeting reasons. It’s all very simple, all I did was add an image and changed site title, switched themes a couple of times to see what they look like, so I did not do much editing at all. But then day 2, for some reason the images break in google chrome browser, but everything else is fine in all the browsers. So the story goes, Day 1, I installed wordpress manually, and everything is fine for a day, I been editing from google chrome the whole time.
